Introduction

This year the 26th West Bengal State Science & Technology Congress, 2019 will be organised by the Department of Higher Education, Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal. Initially three Regional Science & Technology Congresses in erstwhile three divisions of the State will be organised during November-December, 2017 to ensure participations from all parts of the State. Abstracts of scientific research papers proposed to be presented at the 26th Science Congress are invited in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Medical Science, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, 'Agriculture-Fisheries and Animal Science', Engineering, 'Social Sciences & IPR? etc. The abstracts should be in English within 200 words. To upload abstracts the authors are requested to register online at www.vigyanchetana.in. Selected papers will be presented in the respective Regional Science Congresses which will be held at during December, 2018.

 

West Bengal State Science & Technology Congress (WBSSTC)

One of the major activities/events of HESTBT, GoWB is organisation of West Bengal State Science & Technology Congress (WBSSTC), in order to provide a forum for interaction and deliberation, review of the present status of R&D efforts and to synergise Research activities for societal developments. As such it conducts annual congress on Science and Technology since 1994. The programme is inaugurated on 28th February every year where apart from researchers, students of schools and colleges also participate in a large scale. Research papers in different disciplines viz. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, Social Science, Agriculture etc. are presented. The prime objective is the continued advancement and improvement of technology for socio-economic growth. Selected papers from three Regional Science Congresses will be presented in the State Science Congress which will be held at the Science City, Kolkata during 28th February and 1st March, 2019. To encourage the young researchers, there will be awards and certificates both at Regional and State levels.
